In years gone by, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea have never even contemplated doing business with one another.
But now that there have been changes in the boardroom, mainly at Stamford Bridge, then all of that is now changing.
It seems very different and one man on the agenda is Conor Gallagher. He has one year left on his Chelsea deal and is wanted by many Premier League teams, as HITC revealed.
The player himself might not want to leave, but sources have told HITC that Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham remain keen on the player.
What’s interesting is that the Spurs boss was doing punditry work for ITV at Euro 2024 and he spoke about the qualities Gallagher has at his feet.

Postecoglou highlighted the 24-year-old’s ‘energy’ and how he is very good at ‘regaining the football’, as he told ITV Sport.
Every which way he described Gallagher as a player, it all sounded and felt like a player that would very much suit his system.
In recent years, Tottenham fans have been used to sleep-walking football from their team and it has put off a lot of fans.
But that high intensity is now back, the team is being pushed up the field and all of this would suit a player like Gallagher if he moves across London this summer.

“It is about the energy and his ability to regain the football,” said Postecoglou. “Conor (Gallagher) is the one who jumps. He won’t sit.
“Gareth (Southgate) also mentioned his ability to run and break lines – the thing with Conor is that he will run and break lines. Sometimes he won’t even receive the ball because his running capacity disrupts oppositions.”

You have to applaud Postecoglou for what he did in his debut campaign because it was pretty impressive.
Given that he lost a figure like Harry Kane, the team’s attacking output didn’t drop, it actually increased and got better.

They missed out on Champions League football, but they have returned to Europe and will be playing Europa League football next season.
This I where a player like Gallagher comes into the picture because someone of his character and style will be needed to bulk up the squad and help deal with the demands of extra games.
