Ange Postecoglou has big decisions to make this summer with one unhappy Tottenham star showing his quality at Euro 2024.
The Spurs boss will be keeping a keen eye on his international stars this summer as he prepares for the upcoming Premier League campaign.
Tottenham are represented by four players at this summer’s European Championships – Guglielmo Vicario, Radu Dragusin, Micky van de Ven and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
It is the latter who has shone the brightest in Germany so far, thriving in a central role for Denmark and playing a pivotal role in their road to the knockout stages.
He has received praise for his performances in the heart of midfield with Jamie Carragher stunned at Hojbjerg during his display against England.
Unhappy Hojbjerg tops Euro 2024 table
Hojbjerg has plummeted down the pecking order since Ange Postecoglou‘s appointment in North London with the 28-year-old starting just eight games in the Premier League last season.
He expressed his unhappiness in an interview with Tipsbladet earlier this year, “Of course, I am not satisfied with what is going on at the club.
“It’s not a secret. But it’s not something I make a fuss about either.”
Hojbjerg’s contract with Spurs is set to run until the end of next season and Postecoglou has a big decision to make after looking at his stats at Euro 2024.
According to Uefa, Hojbjerg has won more tackles than any other player competing at Euro 2024 during the group stage.
The Dane has completed 12 tackles – level with Georgia’s Giorgi Chakvetadze and one more than England’s Juge Bellingham.

Tottenham will have their sights set on qualifying for the Champions League next season and Postecoglou’s side will simultaneously have to handle the additional strain of a Europa League campaign.

A large squad will be needed and depth in midfield is essential – Hojbjerg is in great form this summer and can carry that momentum into the early season.
Whether it be as a starter or a rotation option, he still has a part to play in this Spurs side.
