Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool have been given a boost in their respective pursuits of Alexis Mac Allister.
What’s the story?
Well, it was L’Interesta in Italy who claimed that Spurs are hoping to sign the Argentina international, whereas Ben Jacobs of CBS Sports revealed that Arsenal are interested.
Elsewhere, another Italian news outlet in La Repubblica stated that Liverpool want to sign Mac Allister.
Now, Gastón Edul – a journalist for TyC Sports – has revealed that the South American is most likely going to leave Brighton at the end of the season.
The Argentinian journalist – who boasts over 530,000 followers on Twitter – believes Mac Allister’s father has travelled to Brighton for talks over his son’s future at the Amex Stadium.
Interest in the Brighton No.10 – who cost them just £7m – soared after he played a vital role in Argentina winning the World Cup in December.
The Seagulls find themselves in a strong negotiating position as they have Mac Allister tied down to a contract until June 2025, so it will presumably cost Arsenal, Tottenham or Liverpool a lot of money to sign him.
Brighton also have little need for the cash – as shown in their ability to reject a bid worth £70m from Arsenal for Moises Caicedo in January.
Arsenal, Tottenham & Liverpool will need to persist with Mac Allister
As Brighton showed amid the Caicedo saga – in which the Ecuador international even asked to leave on Instagram – they are able to stand firm during an intense transfer battle.
Therefore, Mikel Arteta, Antonio Conte and Jürgen Klopp must be persistent throughout the entire summer if one of them is to get their hands on Mac Allister, a player who looks set to become one of the best in Europe.
It will be a difficult transfer to pursue, but one certainly worth keeping an eye on after Edul’s revelation.
