Billy Gilmour set to remain at Chelsea

After speculation linking him with Premier League clubs and even a return to Rangers, it appears Gilmour will be staying at Stamford Bridge for the time being.

Despite having impressed when given the opportunity by Frank Lampard, the 19-year-old has been left out of new manager Thomas Tuchel’s first two squads.

Football London report that Southampton, Bournemouth and West Ham were interested, but that the Scottish midfielder will not be allowed to leave on loan before the deadline.

Celtic and Marseille continue to negotiate over Ntcham

French midfielder Olivier Ntcham could be on his way to Ligue 1 before the window shuts, but at the present moment Celtic and Marseille continue to ‘haggle’ over a deal.

That’s according to Record Sport, who say that the two clubs are “locked in talks”.

The likeliest deal would be a loan with an option to buy.

Record Sport claimed earlier that such a move could generate a fee of close to £9m for the Scottish champions.

Sky Sports quote Celtic boss Neil Lennon as saying he “wouldn’t be surprised” if Ntcham completed his move today.

Simpson move to Rangers could be brought forward

Jack Simpson has already signed a pre-contract agreement with Rangers for a move this summer, but he could end up at Ibrox a few months early.

The Glasgow Times report that Rangers are keen to bring the 24-year-old Bournemouth defender in on loan before the Scottish transfer window closes at midnight.

Simpson was an unused substitute as the Cherries lost 3-1 to Reading on Friday.

Costa could make Premier League return

Diego Costa has reportedly been handed an opportunity to return to England.

The Spanish striker scored 59 goals in 120 appearances for Chelsea before joining Atletico Madrid in 2017.

Sky Sports are reporting that an unnamed club from the Premier League’s top six have offered the 32-year-old a deal until the end of the season.

They say the free agent is after a two-and-a-half-year deal worth around £13m.
