If you want to grab a last-minute ticket to watch the 2026 World Cup final, they will not come cheap.
This year’s showpiece is taking place at the New York New Jersey Stadium on Sunday, July 19.
It sees Inter Miami star Lionel Messi aiming to guide Argentina to their second World Cup in a row after success in 2022.
But if you want to watch Messi’s Argentina clash with Spain this weekend, it may cost you over $12,000.

Secondary market World Cup final tickets costing over $12,000
We saw a clear spike in World Cup final ticket prices earlier this week after Messi and co. beat England in their semi-final to book a place in the final against Spain.
Now, The Athletic have spoken to SeatGeek, a company that allows people to buy and sell tickets for live sports, concerts, and theatre events, about World Cup ticket prices.
It has been revealed that the average price of a final ticket purchased on their site was $12,751.
That is well in excess of the previous record, which was set during the 2024 Super Bowl.
The San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs clashed in that game, with the average ticket price rising to $10,540.
It shows just how popular soccer is with many people around the world, even if it is not the biggest sport in America.
Meanwhile, though tickets on SeatGeek are averaging over $12,000, there are currently cheaper options out there.
We checked SeatPick on Saturday and found the cheapest ticket available was $6,841.
However, that ticket was at the very back of the stadium in Section 331.
If you want to sit closer to the action, the price begins to rise, with figures ranging from anywhere between over $7,000 up to near $14,000.
