Liverpool head into the January transfer window with plenty to do.

The Reds are way behind where they want to be in the Premier League right now, their midfield is ageing and struggling and the club’s ownership situation is up in the air to say the least.

However, help may be on the way. January represents a chance for the Merseyside club to go out and plug their problem positions, and there are plenty of rumours for the Anfield faithful to sink their teeth into.

With that in mind, we’ve had a go at predicting Liverpool’s potential post January XI based on recent rumours.

Liverpool do need to do some business in January, and we’re expecting a few new additions..

There is a new midfielder in this team, but it may not be the one that many expected to see here.

Indeed, while Jude Bellingham has been the player most strongly linked with the Reds, we’re not expecting that move to surface next month.

It’s been widely reported that Bellingham isn’t going to be leaving Dortmund until next summer, and therefore, we’re tipping up a move for Enzo Fernandez in January instead.

The Argentine has been linked to Liverpool strongly over the past few weeks, and it looks like the Reds are edging closer to signing the World Cup star.

While Bellingham isn’t likely to leave Dortmund until the summer, the same may not be said for Youssoufa Moukoko who starts here.

Another talented young player who has been linked to Liverpool, Moukoko’s contract is up at the end of the season and the German club may well decide to cash-in on the teenager while they still can.

Of course, putting Moukoko in this XI is pre-emptive and he may come in as more of a rotation option to begin with, but for the sake of presentation, he starts in this team.

Meanwhile, Cody Gakpo starts down the left after his arrival from PSV was confirmed this week.

Liverpool certainly need to be busy in January, and, in our view, Gakpo, Fernandez and Moukoko may be the three signings needed to re-ignite this side.
