West Ham United fans have praised Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris after last night’s clash in the League Cup.

Lloris impresses

Lloris pulled off a string of brilliant saves to help Spurs to a 2-1 victory over David Moyes’ men in the cup.

The French stopper denied the likes of Tomas Soucek, Manuel Lanzini and Jarrod Bowen with some eye-catching saves throughout the contest, as Tottenham edged a hard fought encounter.

And at full-time West Ham fans couldn’t help but hail the Tottenham stopper for his display.

Like a fine wine

Lloris seems to actually be getting better with age at Tottenham.

It is for that reason that Antonio Conte will surely want his contract sorted out sooner rather than later.

Lloris’ current deal at Spurs is due to expire at the end of the season, but Tottenham surely won’t want to let him go.

The World Cup winner may be 34, but he continues to prove that he can perform to the very top level.

Lloris has also shown great leadership qualities at Spurs and losing his voice in the dressing room would be a big blow.

Tottenham do seem to be putting in place long-term plans to replace Lloris.

But while he keeps putting in performances of the quality he produced last night it is difficult to see any viable option who would be an upgrade for Conte’s side to sign.
