LeBron James confirmed his decision to leave the Los Angeles Lakers after eight seasons on Tuesday.

James has now entered free agency for the fourth time in his career, with many teams interested in signing him.

He is expected to decide his next team sooner rather than later, but he must first hold discussions with his agent.

Here is what James has asked his close friend and agent, Rich Paul, to do in discussions with potential suitors.

LeBron James’ message to Rich Paul before deciding his NBA future

LeBron James has been strongly linked with a surprise move to the Golden State Warriors in free agency.

He was at the heart of an iconic rivalry with the Warriors during his second spell with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

However, James has always wanted to play with Steph Curry, and he is also friends with Draymond Green.

Green declined his $27.7 million player option this week, which suggests he was creating cap space for James’ arrival.

Although the Warriors appear the most likely option, James has also been linked with the Cavs and the Miami Heat.

Rich Paul will not only hold discussions with those three teams, following James’ specific advice.

The former LA Laker has reportedly asked Paul to speak to every interested team before presenting the viable options to him.

Dave McMenamin wrote: “LeBron James has instructed Rich Paul to talk to everyone around the league who is interested in him and come back with the options so he can make his decision.”

The Warriors remain the frontrunners in the race to sign James, but perhaps the four-time champion will shock the world.
