The LA Lakers have put measures in place to guarantee Bronny James’ future following LeBron James’ decision to leave.

LeBron called time on his career with the Lakers after eight seasons and decided to enter free agency at the age of 41.

A move to Golden State Warriors seems like the most likely outcome for now, however, one person who won’t be joining him in his new adventure is his son.

Bronny James’s LA Lakers contract is fully guranteed

As James snr prepares to depart, his son knows for sure that he will be heading into next season playing for the Lakers.

Keith Smith reported on X that the 21-year-old’s contract became fully guaranteed 24 hours before his father’s departure in a $2.3M.

His next step will be to become a regular in the side after averaging only 2.7 points in 8.1 minutes of action since he joined the franchise two years ago, but this guarantee almost certainly seals his place in the roster.

Lakers coach JJ Redick has been impressed with what he has seen though, saying last season: “He’s improved a lot, we trust him.”

Having only had chances here and there to share the court with his father, this is now a chance for Bronny to create his own Lakers legacy and help Luka Doncic, who now becomes the main man in LA.
