NFL Madden 27 is just around the corner, and leaked ratings have made for interesting reading.

Every year, Madden ratings spark widespread debate among American football fans, and this year is no different.

There are six players in the 99 club — Josh Allen, Myles Garrett, Trey McBride, Matthew Stafford, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Ja’Marr Chase.

McBride is the highest-rated tight end in the game, but Kelce isn’t far off. On Madden 26, he was 90 rated. After a solid year for the Kansas City Chiefs, he has been bumped up to 91.

At 36, Kelce is still one of the best in his position. He had another strong season, running up 76 receptions for 851 yards and 5 touchdowns.

ESPN recently ranked tight ends for 2026, and he only managed the tenth spot on the list. In Madden, he’s rated fourth-highest, according to MUTLeaks on X.

The pool of tight ends is strong, and the competition is fierce. The position has undergone a significant shift in recent years, with a new generation of stars emerging across the league.

McBride’s rise to the top reflects that changing landscape, while players such as George Kittle, Sam LaPorta and Brock Bowers continue to push the standard higher.

Kelce may no longer sit at the summit, but his consistency and experience still make him one of the most reliable targets in football. His rating increase suggests EA Sports still values his impact, even as younger tight ends continue to close the gap heading into the 2026 season.
