The Seattle Seahawks set a new NFL record after being sold ahead of the new season.

The Seattle Seahawks are currently the champions of the NFL following their 29-13 win over the New England Patriots at Super Bowl 60.

Since lifting the trophy, the rumor mill has been buzzing with The Paul Allen Estate planning to sell the Seahawks. Well, the sale has gone through, and it has created a new NFL franchise record.

Seattle Seahawks sold to Vinod Khosla for $9.6 billion

For months, the likes of Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos have been linked to the NFL organization, but the Allen Estate sold it to someone else.

The new owner of the Seahawks is American-Indian billionaire venture capitalist Vinod Khosla. The Khosla family apparently paid $9.6 billion for the franchise.

The $9.6 billion price tag is the most anyone has ever paid for an NFL team. In fact, this number beats the previous highest price tag by $3.55 billion.

Previously, the record belonged to Josh Harris, who purchased the Washington Commanders for a then-record $6.05 billion price tag in 2023.

Coming back to the Seahawks, under The Paul Allen Estate, the franchise won two Super Bowls in 2014 and 2026. Can the new ownership group replicate the same level of success? Fans will find out soon.
