Nuno Espirito Santo has told Sky Sports that Tanguy Ndombele has a lot to offer after committing himself to Tottenham Hotspur, exciting some fans reacting on social media.

Ndombele sought to leave north London in the summer transfer window, but Daniel Levy blocked his route out. The Evening Standard noted in September the Spurs Chairman and Managing Director Fabio Paratici agreed there was insufficient time to land a suitable offer.

The market marked back-to-back summers in which Ndombele asked to leave Tottenham, where patience had also begun to wear thin. He has since worked his way back into Nuno’s plans after the Portuguese overlooked the 24-year-old for the opening four league games.

After Nuno recalled Ndombele against Chelsea, Tottenham’s £54m club-record signing has started their last four Premier League fixtures. He also scored his first goal of the campaign against Newcastle United last Sunday to draw Spurs level after 17-minutes.

Tottenham went on to beat Newcastle 3-2, but Nuno still expects a lot more to come from Ndombele this season. Noting: “A lot of things have changed. I always said from the beginning, I can’t go and say all the things that happened.

“We are aware that since Tanguy commit himself to the club and the team. he’s so talented. We have to be patient. He is improving, he’s playing and doing his job well. But we have to be patient because I believe that Tanguy has a lot to give to us.”

A few also expect Ndombele to now kick on and deliver Nuno’s expectations for Tottenham this season. He buckled down after failing to leave Spurs last year to offer six goals and four assists in 46 appearances, while also starting 35 of his outings across all competitions.

Ndombele’s goal haul additionally marked triple his first return after joining Tottenham in 2018, having scored twice in 29 games. He also offered four assists during his debut season in north London, but is yet to provide one this term.
