Dominik Szoboszlai has reacted on his Instagram story to Liverpool transfer target Josko Gvardiol securing a transfer to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

The Liverpool player, who also moved to the Premier League from German side RB Leipzig this summer, congratulated his former teammate on his move and laughed that they will now be ‘neighbours’.

Whilst Liverpool didn’t compete for the Premier League title last season, they were still the last team to stop the dominant Manchester City from becoming champions.

Well, with the arrival of Josko Gvardiol, that dominance will only go up a level for the Treble winners, but Dominik Szoboszlai will be hoping to have something to say about that over on Merseyside.

Jurgen Klopp’s side, after missing out on Champions League football last term, will be fully aware that they need to get their act together for the new season.

Nonetheless, with Gvardiol in the building at the Etihad, it resulted in Szoboszlai issuing the following response via his Instagram story.

‘What a player,” wrote the new Liverpool player. “Congrats brother. Neighbours,” added with a laughing emoji.

That has frustrated some, with Jose Enrique claiming that another centre-back is needed, amongst other areas of the pitch that need bulking up, as they are set to lose out to Brighton to the signing of a player dubbed ‘star boy’
