Jose Enrique has expressed his anger on Instagram at Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool not securing a transfer for Brighton and Hove Albion-bound, Mohammed Kudus.
The former Liverpool left-back questioned ‘why don’t we go for a player like him?’, as he shared that the Ajax star can play as a number eight, including filling in for Mohammed Salah out on the right.
Instead, there are suggestions that Roberto De Zerbi’s side, who will be playing in Europe for the first time in their history this season, are set to land Mohammed Kudus’s talents, as reported by David Ornstein on Twitter – Arsenal have also expressed interest for the ‘star boy’.
The Reds have signed two midfielders this summer – Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai – but they were both signed when Jordan Henderson and Fabinho were still at the club.
Added to that, there seems to be growing frustration at the club not being able to get a deal done for Southampton teenager, Romeo Lavia – Jurgen Klopp has even been urged to ‘walk away’ from the deal.
Less than a month remains before the 2023 summer transfer window slams shut and Enrique is becoming very annoyed at the work, or lack of it, being done at Anfield.

“Why don’t we go for a player like him?” asked Enrique. “40M euros. Can play as a number 8 and can play in Salah’s position as well.
“I can’t believe that Brighton is taking a player that could be perfect for us, even if he is not a starting 11 player, but for that price.
“We need him, Lavia, a right back, a centre back and we are perfect to compete for the Premier League again, but we need to wake up.”
Are Liverpool done with incoming transfers?
This is where FSG are going to take verbal beatings from the Liverpool fans because they will feel that Klopp is being dealt a bad hand here.
Surely, with Henderson and Fabinho gone, something needs to happen and new faces need to be brought in because those two are huge, huge losses.
