West Ham United are trying to make moves in the summer transfer market.

One of their biggest issues last season was how poor they were at the back and the number of goals they shipped.

David Moyes’ side conceded 74 goals – only the relegated trio conceded more and this is despite having a defensive manager in the dugout.

Therefore, with Julen Lopetegui now in the building, it isn’t a surprise that West Ham are looking to bulk up and add serious quality to their defence.

West Ham have already secured the signing of Max Kilman, but they don’t want to stop there.

Sources have told HITC that West Ham’s deal for Jean-Clair Todibo has been hijacked and the highly-rated centre-back has agreed to join Juventus.

This isn’t helpful for the London club because Todibo, who plays for Nice and has two France caps to his name, would have been a brilliant capture.

Not only that, Stuart Pearce is expecting Kurt Zouma to leave West Ham following the Kilman signing and Todibo would have been a certain upgrade.

But Lopetegui and Co shouldn’t fret and they should look closer to home to bring in that much-needed centre-back.

West Ham United should sign Cameron Carter-Vickers from Celtic

Champions League experience, an American international and trophies to his name. West Ham should push for Cameron Carter-Vickers’ signature this summer.

The 26-year-old repped Tottenham, once upon a time, but he wasn’t ready for that step up and he spent several seasons on loan.

Then he found his home at Parkhead and he thrived under the stewardship of a certain Ange Postecoglou.

With seven trophies to his name (transfermarkt). You feel Carter-Vickers is now ready to return to London and showcase what he is all about on the Premier League stage.

Cameron Carter-Vickers is wanted by Premier League clubs

Brendan Rodgers faces a battle to keep hold of Cameron Carter-Vickers, with several Premier League clubs keen, sources have told HITC.

Newly-promoted Ipswich Town are looking at the USMNT International, as well as Fulham and West Ham.

The Irons clearly aren’t just happy with the Kilman arrival and they want another addition.

And they shouldn’t look further than Carter-Vickers, who wouldn’t command a huge transfer fee and he would prove to be a smart piece of business.
