The agent of reported West Ham United and Brighton target Paul Onuachu arrived in England yesterday to hold talks regarding a potential move to the Premier League, according to Own Goal Nigeria.

It is five months since the Hammers pushed the sulking Sebastien Haller in the general direction of Ajax and, almost half a year later, we are still none the wiser about who on earth will take his place in David Moyes’ front line.

Youssef En-Nesyri, Abdallah Sima and Adam Hlozek have returned to the gossip columns in recent weeks, although it seems the Hammers have added a new name to a list of targets longer than the Magna Carta.

Last week it was reported Moyes had told his West Ham bosses to make a bid for Onuachu, a 6ft 7in giant of a centre-forward who scored 35 times for Belgian outfit KRC Genk last season.

Is Paul Onuachu the striker West Ham fans have been waiting for?

Own Goal Nigeria has provided an update today, saying Onauchu’s agent is in England for talks with his client, who’s dreaming of a move to the Premier League.

Goal-shy Brighton and Hove Albion are interested too, although it isn’t certain at this stage who’s leading the chase for a striker who will be allowed to leave the Luminus Arena for a fee in the region of £23 million.

Onuachu, who idolises Kanu and dreams of a move to Arsenal, has been a prolific provider of goals for a number of seasons now, mustering 124 in 263 career appearances while lifting trophies in Belgium and Denmark.
