Genk striker Paul Onuachu has admitted that he dreams of playing for Premier League giants Arsenal after a stunning season in Belgian football, as reported by Sporza

The 6ft 7ins Nigeria international must be wondering what more he could do.

Onuachu has scored a remarkable 31 goals in 36 games this season. But Genk are still miles adrift at the top of the Jupiler League table, sitting 20 points behind runaway league leaders Club Brugge.

The Golden Boot award will be some consolation, of course, even if Onuachu would probably rather have a league winners’ medal to show for his exploits.

Either way, the former Mitdjylland striker is expected to be a man in high-demand this summer, with one club standing out as a dream destination for one of Europe’s most in-form centre-forwards.

“I really like Arsenal,” Onuachu said, translated by Voetbal Nieuws, when quizzed about which teams he would like to join.

Whether the 26-year-old will be offered the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of two African greats, however, remains to be seen.

“(Emmanuel) Adebayor, one of the players I admired most, played there. I really was a fan of him, as well as Kanu. I really love watching Arsenal too.”

With Pierre-Emerick Aubemeyang and Alexandre Lacazette facing an uncertain future at Arsenal, Mikel Arteta may be on the lookout for a new centre-forward. The Gunners were crying out for a physical presence in the penalty area during Friday’s drab 1-0 home defeat to Everton, after all.

But, as Aston Villa fans will tell you, an impressive goal-scoring record in Belgium does not necessarily translate into the Premier League.

Between them, Mbwana Samatta and Wesley Moraes scored just six goals after arriving at Villa Park from Genk and Club Brugge respectively.
