HITC understands that West Ham United have agreed terms with their top defensive target Aaron Wan Bissaka but a deal remains incomplete.

West Ham United have been one of the more busier sides in the summer transfer window with Spaniard Julen Lopetegui chosen to replace David Moyes as manager of the Hammers.

The Hammers signed exciting midfielder Luis Guilherme from South American side Palmeiras and added Wolves defender Max Kilman, who has moved to the London Stadium for £40 million.

The Hammers aren’t stopping there and remain keen on English right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka after the East London side failed to get a deal over the line for Noussair Mazraoui.

Aaron Wan Bissaka deal stalling with West Ham

HITC understands that Wan-Bissaka has agreed terms on his prospective move to West Ham United, but the issue is the remaining year of his contract at Manchester United.

Sources have told HITC that a deal has been agreed between West Ham and Man United for Wan Bissaka with the fee understood to be £15 million plus £3 million in add-ons.

However, the year left on Wan-Bissaka’s deal at Old Trafford, including bonuses, is causing the issue and the hold-up from this deal happening.

United are understood to want West Ham and Wan-Bissaka to swallow some of that fee – but the player is insisting that he receives a full payment on the money that he is owed before departing Old Trafford.

Talks are understood to be ongoing between the two clubs with Wan-Bissaka’s agent working hard on a deal and there is confidence that an agreement is not far away.

Wan-Bissaka has Inter Milan deal on the table

If a deal for Wan Bissaka is not agreed, sources have told HITC that the Hammers do have other options with Girona’s Arnau Martinez one of them, another is Kieran Trippier, but the former Crystal Palace right-back remains the number one choice.

Martinez plays for La Liga overachievers Girona and his manager, Michel labelled the full-back as ‘very intelligent’ following last season’s game against Real Madrid, when he spoke to Marca.

As for Erik ten Hag’s United, it is our understanding that both club and player have spoken to Inter Milan about a deal, which would include a possible move to Old Trafford for Denzel Dumfries, but United’s and Wan-Bissaka’s preference remains West Ham.

United have a deal in place with Bayern Munich for Noussair Mazraoui after the Moroccan turned down the advances of West Ham and is now keen on a move to Old Trafford this summer.
