Udinese winger Gerard Deulofeu has admitted he could leave for Spain in the future with the reported Tottenham target linked with a move to La Liga during the summer transfer window.
In an interview with Marca, the former Everton superstar revealed that he was open to the idea of returning to Spain after a sensational season with Udinese, with Deulofeu consistently linked with a move away from Italy with the Premier League and La Liga a potential destination.
Tottenham were reportedly interested in Deulofeu alongside London rivals West Ham, with Udinese setting a reported £17m asking price for the attacker to leave the club in the summer. However, as we know, the winger opted to remain in Italy for the start of the Serie A season.
And the decision to stay has proven to be quite an incredible one, with Udinese flying in the Serie A standings as the Udine-based side sit top of the standings with Deulofeu having a starring role, with the 28-year-old bagging five assists in the division, the joint-most in the league this campaign.

Whilst a move to the Premier League would be ideal for Deulofeu should the winger leave Udinese in January, it appears that a return to Spain is currently weighing on the winger’s mind, with the Tottenham target saying that he has been in contact with clubs from his native country.
Deulofeu said when asked if he would move back to La Liga after lighting up Italy with Udinese: “I like the idea because it is Spain and we have spoken to some teams, but you never know what can happen. You have to enjoy the present moment.”
Tottenham look set to miss out on Deulofeu if the winger leaves Udinese

Deulofeu has grown into quite the player since his stints in the Premier League with Watford and Everton, yet it seems like the 28-year-old is keen to avoid a return to England based on his record in the division, with Spain seemingly a good next step for the Udiniese star.
After all, Deulofeu has florusihed since moving to Italy and has become quite the attacker with the Serie A side, and taking his newfound talents back to Spain could be a great decision for the forward in the peak of his career, much to the dismay of Tottenham.
