West Ham reportedly face some competition for Udinese star Gerard Deulofeu, with Sevilla, Real Betis and Olympique Marseille now interested in the Spanish forward.

According to Messaggero Veneto, the Serie A trickster is attracting interest from top clubs ahead of the summer transfer window after a fantastic season with Udinese, with Deulofeu bagging nine goals and two assists in the Italian top-flight.

A former Premier League star for the likes of Everton and Watford, a return to England seems likely for Deulofeu given his record in the division, and West Ham are reportedly eyeing a move for the 28-year-old ahead of the summer.

CalcioMercato have previously reported that Udinese will be open to selling Deulofeu in the transfer window for as little as £17m, a demand that West Ham could be open to meet given their lack of attacking options beyond Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen.

Deulofeu was recently labelled as ‘majestic’ by the Italian media after a standout performance against Napoli, the former FC Barcelona attacker has seen his game evolve since moving to Udinese, with the West Ham target now playing primarily as a striker.

And the move to the new role has proved a big success for Deulofeu, and his form has now caught the eye of West Ham and their recent European rivals Sevilla, with other big clubs in Betis and Marseille also interested in the Catalan.

Indeed, Deulofeu could be a great signing for either of the four clubs this summer, yet with West Ham and Sevilla going after the same player, the pair could be locked into a transfer battle in the off-season to land the Serie A attacker.

After their historic win against Sevilla earlier in the month, West Ham will be looking to get one over the Spanish side again this summer with the two clubs now keen on signing Deulofeu, who seems rejuvenated after spending some time with Udinese.

Moreover, with the club open to selling Deulofeu for a decent fee in the transfer window, West Ham and Sevilla could look to one-up each other off the field following on from their European clash in trying to win the race for the attacker’s signature.
