Nico Williams is looking to light up the Euro 2024 final stage as many of his admirers, including Liverpool, watch on.

Spain have been the best team at this summer’s Euros, winning every game, with a standout feature being their vibrant young attackers.

Nico Williams has been on one flank, whilst Spain and Euro 2024 record-breaker Lamine Yamal, who only turned 17, has been torturing defenders on the other.

But the Spanish duo face their toughest yet because Gareth Southgate’s England stand in their way of glory in Berlin.

There is every chance Williams guides Spain to a trophy and then secures a transfer to the Premier League – Williams has been in talks with Liverpool.

Already at the age of 22, Wayne Rooney is comparing the Athletic Bilbao star to Cristiano Ronaldo amid his performances in Germany.

No, not the Cristiano Ronaldo voted in the worst Euro 2024 XI, but the one who used to rip it up in the colours of Manchester United.

Rooney saw first-hand how destructive the legendary forward was, including winning the Ballon d’Or whilst at Old Trafford.

And now Manchester United’s all-time leading goalscorer has told England to be ‘really careful’ about a player he thinks is ‘exceptional’, as he told The Times.

Despite that transfer interest from Anfield, Yamal wants Barcelona to beat Liverpool to the signature of Williams.

Sources have told HITC why clubs like Liverpool have been left ‘shocked’ by Williams, as he prepares for the biggest game of his life.

“Williams, for me, is exceptional,” said Rooney. “He reminds me of Cristiano Ronaldo when Cristiano was young.

“He’s a big lad, he’ll take the ball and sometimes tries too much, but usually makes the right decisions. He is an incredible threat in one-on-one situations and scores goals as well. England need to be really careful with him.”

Arne Slot is the new manager and several of his players won’t return until very late because of European and Copa America commitments.

And you feel once both tournaments conclude, players like Williams will be on the move, it’s just a case of where will he be heading.
