Liverpool and Chelsea will have representatives in the Euro 2024 final showdown between England and Spain on Sunday in Berlin.

Some are probably surprised about one name that has reached this far and that’s Chelsea’s much-criticised star, Marc Cucurella.

It’s no surprise that Chelsea’s Cole Palmer is ripping it up at Euro 2024 after the season he has just had, whilst Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold will be aiming to relive his penalty heroics.

Those players can be celebrated by their respective clubs, but others have outright struggled this summer and are now on an unwanted list.

Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo has been one of the most talked about players after he failed to score, despite starting every single game before his team’s exit at the quarter-final stage.

Many aren’t sympathising with the 39-year-old because he practically tried to get involved in every attacking phase, including taking free-kicks from all sorts of angles.

But Ronaldo isn’t the only one in the XI because he is joined by some familiar faces in the Premier League, including a personnel on the books of Chelsea, as well as Arsenal and Liverpool.

Chelsea fans might not be surprised or they are probably waiting for him to leave for good, but Romelu Lukaku was in the worst Euro 2024 team after scoring more disallowed goals (3) than actual goals (0).

In the end, the 31-year-old watched his Belgium side crash out of the round of 16 stage and the man behind him in midfield is Dominik Szoboszlai, as posted by Marca.

Whilst Lukaku is expected to leave Chelsea, the man in Liverpool’s midfield isn’t and his form is a massive worry with Hungary failing to progress through from the group stages.

You just can’t see Lukaku having any sort of future at Stamford Bridge, even if Enzo Marseca is the new Chelsea boss.

But new Liverpool manager Arne Slot has to get Szoboszlai going again because, after his first three months in the Premier League, he has fallen off and is struggling for form.

That energy in midfield and ability to cope with the speed of the game has gone out of the window and he needs to find it again.

It’s fair to say that if he starts the new Premier League campaign in an iffy fashion, then his fans will get on his back quicker than others.
