Michael Beale officially returned to Ibrox on Monday as Rangers finally secured a replacement for Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

The 42-year-old has reunited with the likes of James Tavernier in Glasgow, although the Rangers captain was bamboozled right in front of Beale during a training session as footage emerges.

What’s the story?

Well, it was 19-year-old Alex Lowry who embarrassed the 31-year-old with an exquisite piece of skill in training, which surely caught Beale’s eye given the fact he was stood right beside the pitch watching.

As you can see below, the Scotland Under-21 international plucks a difficult pass out of the sky, before flicking it over the head of Tavernier and dribbling into space all in one motion.

It was a delightful piece of skill from Lowry, who is clearly a very good technician.

The teenager certainly picked a good time to dazzle in training, as Beale will be keeping a close eye on fringe players who could make an impact in the first-team and help overturn the current situation.

Rangers currently find themselves nine points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, and it will take a mammoth effort to wrestle back the title.

Alex Lowry deserves Rangers opportunity

In our view, Beale should seriously consider using Lowry reguarly in his starting XI.

The Rangers No.51 was barely given any action by Van Bronckhorst despite impressing for the reserves sides, scoring seven goals in ten appearances at that level so far this season.

Lowry was given six minutes of Champions League playing time in the 3-1 defeat to Ajax, but his performances away from the first-team so far this term certainly deserve to be rewarded.

The youngster has also impressed on the international scene, with one outstanding pass for the Scotland Under-21 side receiving plenty of attention.

Hopefully, the Uddingston-born wonderkid gets a chance to shine under Beale.
