Rangers are currently enduring a nightmarish campaign under Giovanni van Bronckhorst, although there is a bright spot in Alex Lowry.
The 19-year-old has barely been used by Van Bronckhorst this season, playing just six minutes of first-team action in the final Champions League game.
Lowry has, otherwise, exclusively played his football in the Challenge Cup and Lowland League, where he has impressed with seven goals in seven appearances.
Now, the teenager has showcased his talent again while on international duty with the Scotland Under-21 side.
Alex Lowry shows what Rangers are ignoring
Well, it may only be a nine-second clip, although it shows Lowry doing something very special as the Scotland Under-21 side took on Iceland’s Under-21 team live on the BBC.
The Rangers No.51 smartly allowed the ball to roll across his body, taking one opponent out of the game completely, before a little shimmy opened up the space for a superb long-range pass for Ben Doak.
As you can see above, Lowry somehow plays an inch-perfect pass to the 17-year-old Liverpool prodigy, and while the footage cuts off just as he shoots at goal, we can confirm he unfortunately failed to score.
Nevertheless, it was a bit of genius from Lowry, and we sincerely hope Van Bronckhorst was watching.
Rangers must start Lowry ahead of Arfield
For some reason, Van Bronckhorst is persisting with the 34-year-old Scott Arfield, who is quite clearly no longer the player he used to be.

We struggle to understand why a player nearing his retirement is being preferred to Lowry, who is the future of Rangers, and needs senior football to aid his development.
The Scottish Express believe Newcastle and Manchester City want to sign Lowry, so if Van Bronckhorst continues to overlook him, we wouldn’t be surprised to see him ask to leave Ibrox.
