Joe Cole has told The Sun that Graham Potter’s Chelsea will go above Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the Premier League table very soon.

Cole has noted that although Arsenal are doing extremely well at the moment, Chelsea have been more successful in recent years and have won major silverware.

The former Chelsea believes that the Blues will go above the Gunners in the league table very soon.

Graham Potter’s Chelsea and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will face each other at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Gunners are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment with 31 points from 12 matches, two points above second-placed and defending champions Manchester City.

Meanwhile, the Blues currently find themselves sixth in the stands with 21 points from 12 games.

Joe Cole on Arsenal and Chelsea

Cole said: “We have to be very mindful of what’s happening at Arsenal because nothing has paid off as of yet.

“Arsenal have set high standards for themselves. I do like what they’re doing. I enjoy watching Arsenal play, which I haven’t said for a long time.

“I like Mikel Arteta and what he does, how he sets up the team and I like the young players.

“Nothing significant has been achieved at Arsenal as of yet with their high standards, but they’re on the right path.

“Chelsea have battled at a different level over the last 20 years. We have to say that. Chelsea are the most successful team in the country over the last 20 years. I still feel Chelsea can more than compete and go above Arsenal very soon.”

Big London derby

In our opinion, the London derby between Chelsea and Arsenal this weekend will be massive.

Arsenal are in better form than Chelsea at the moment, but, as Cole notes, the Blues are used to achieving success and will head into the Premier League game against the Gunners with confidence.

Chelsea do have a very good team, and the players will be confident of picking up all three points against Mikel Arteta’s side.
