Tottenham are reportedly weighing up a bid to sign Brighton & Hove Albion attacker Leandro Trossard, whose contract with the Seagulls is due to expire at the end of this season.
According to the Evening Standard, the north London club could soon move to sign the Belgian international with Antonio Conte on the hunt for an attacking replacement for Lucas Moura, who is expected to leave Tottenham this year after passing up on an option to extend his contract.
With Trossard’s deal at Brighton set to come to an end this summer, a potential bargain could be on the cards this January with the 28-year-old enjoying his best season to date in the Premier League, with the Tottenham target scoring seven goals and assisting two.
Lauded as ‘unreal’ by Rio Ferdinand, Trossard’s form and contract situation has made the former Genk superstar quite the target for a number of Premier League clubs, with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all being linked with the Brighton winger in recent weeks.

Indeed, given Trossard’s profile, the attacker would be an ideal player for Conte’s style of play at Tottenham. And with Lucas set to leave north London this year, the Belgian is a perfect replacement for the Spurs icon, with Brighton likely to demand a reasonable fee for the forward, as well.
However, Tottenham’s interest could easily be for nothing if they fail to act on Trossard’s contract situation. And because of this, Conte and his transfer team must soon submit a bid to sign the Brighton star before rival clubs begin to pile in with offers of their own.
Tottenham must move quickly to win the race to sign Trossard

Trossard’s form this season has caught many by surprise, and with the winger’s contract soon coming to an end on the south coast, Tottenham must ensure they are at the front of the queue to sign the attacker this month, with the Belgian proving to excellent value for money in the market.
Whilst the interest from rival clubs is always a worry, Tottenham have the pull and the finances to win the race for Trossard, yet Spurs must act fast if they’re to secure a deal for the attacker this month, with time slowly running out for the north London side.
