Darren Ambrose told talkSPORT on Sunday evening that Tottenham should hand the managerial reigns to Ryan Mason.

The former Crystal Palace player, who is a boyhood Spurs fan, shared that it’s a ‘frustrating’ time supporting the club, at the moment.

So many names have been linked with the Tottenham job that it’s a case of who is left rather than who has been linked.

And with it being over two months since Spurs sacked Jose Mourinho, it was suggested by Ambrose that Mason has the ‘backing of the players’ and he should be appointed instead.

“It’s frustrating being a Spurs fan,” said Ambrose. “He’s (Levy) making mistakes by going public with everyone he’s speaking to.

“I think Everton are having a similar issue, but no one really hears about that. But the list of manager that we have got put in front of us – Gattuso, Pochettino, Ten Haag, Nuno, Martinez, Rangnick and Potter.

“If he’s the wrong man for the job then he’s the wrong man. But there comes a point where you have to pick the right man. From the outside looking in, you are looking at Levy wanting to be in charge and wanting a yes man.

“If no one wants the job or Levy doesn’t want to give anyone the job then why not just give it to Ryan Mason to see what he can do? He seems to have the backing of the players. He has done okay on the back end of last season. And there would be less pressure on the team.”

Many weeks ago, it looked like Antonio Conte was going to be handed the reigns in North London, but from his name being touted, the recent name that has been wiped off the list has been Gennaro Gattuso.

Whatever the issue, one thing is for sure, Daniel Levy’s reputation is taking a battering.

And with Spurs supporters calling for his head many weeks ago, following the European Super League saga, when fans are allowed back into stadiums then he’s not going to get a pleasant reception.
