Tottenham Hotspur’s potential new striker signing this summer has a long-running connection to Arsenal going back to his childhood years.
Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur earmarked a new centre-forward this summer with the club yet to replace Harry Kane after the Englishman departed the club back in the summer of 2023 to Bayern Munich.
HITC had previously reported that Feyenoord forward Santiago Gimenez was a top target for Tottenham this summer with the Mexican set to cost Spurs £42 million, which is considered as something of a bargain for a player with 28 Eredivisie goals.
However, it now appears that Spurs are keen on a new centre-forward this summer but the forward has a connection to Arsenal.

Dominic Solanke has admitted he is an Arsenal fan
HITC understands that Tottenham are progressing in talks with Bournemouth for English forward Dominic Solanke.
Solanke has a £65 million release clause at the Cherries which only the Premier League’s big six can activate this summer and it appears the Lilywhites are working on getting a deal done.
Bournemouth have targeted Tammy Abraham as a replacement with the former Chelsea forward said to be well-liked by the club’s director Tiago Pinto.
As for Solanke, the Englishman had an outstanding 19-goal season for Bournemouth in the Premier League and it seems a move away from the South Coast is on the cards.
“Would have probably been Arsenal,” Solanke said to Match Of The Day when asked about who he supported as a child.
“Yeah, my dad was an Arsenal fan, so I used to follow them. I went to a few Emirates Cups, back in the day.
“Back in the day, when you’re young, you love watching football and stuff. When you actually, like, grow up and you start playing against the teams, it’s a bit hard to support a team.”
Solanke certainly not the first Arsenal fan to play for Spurs
Kane was famously an Arsenal fan and was in the club’s youth academy before eventually making his break at Spurs.
Gareth Bale and Matt Doherty were also reportedly fans of the Gunners despite playing for Tottenham and it seems that Solanke is set to continue that trend.
With Solanke moving to Spurs, it certainly wouldn’t be an issue if the Englishman did play for the Lilywhites when he was a fan of Arsenal.
The move for Solanke would be one of the most exciting signings of the summer for Spurs and his childhood support should not put a dent to the excitement.
