HITC understands that Tottenham Hotspur are keeping close tabs on Atletico Madrid’s pursuit of Conor Gallagher.

The North London club have had a long-term interest in the 24-year-old Chelsea midfielder.

HITC revealed earlier this week that Atletico Madrid have now opened talks with Chelsea over a potential move for Conor Gallagher.

The Spanish giants are hopeful of persuading Gallagher to make a move to the Spanish capital this summer.

However, Spurs are not ready to give up their pursuit with sources telling HITC that Tottenham are ready to match their bid for Gallagher.

The Chelsea and England midfielder is admired by Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou, who praised Gallagher during Euro 2024 this summer.

Conor Gallagher stance on leaving Chelsea

Chelsea have once again reached deep into their pockets to strengthen their squad this summer, with seven new signings already completed under new manager Enzo Maresca.

Their strategy to fund their heavy spending has been selling academy products as they represent pure profit under Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Unfortunately for Gallagher, he is next on the chopping block with Chelsea chiefs telling him that they are looking to sell him this summer.

HITC understands that Gallagher is considering his options but remains somewhat perturbed by Chelsea’s decision not to offer him a new contract.

Chelsea’s hierarchy have made their position clear and Gallagher is believed to be wondering whether he can stay at Chelsea despite being told he is up for sale.
