Tottenham are now ready to sell Bryan Gil with Sevilla interested in the £83,000-a-week man.

What’s the story?

Well, Spurs are now happy to part ways with the Spain international on a permanent basis – according to Vamos Mi Sevilla.

The Spanish news outlet believe Sevilla want to sign Gil on loan for the remainder of the campaign, but Tottenham would prefer to offload their No.11 permanently for a fee in the region of €25m (£22m) – the same amount they paid for him.

However, Sevilla have no interest in a permanent deal, not even an initial loan with an obligation to buy in the summer.

The Spanish side are currently in discussions with Tottenham, where Vamos Mi Sevilla claim that Jorge Sampaoli’s side have told Spurs a loan deal is likely to raise Gil’s value, potentially leading to interest from more clubs in the summer.

Gil has struggled to settle since joining Spurs back in July 2021, making 30 appearances in total for the north Londoners with just a handful of those coming as starts.

Nevertheless, the 21-year-old has impressed when called upon, with Harry Redknapp even describing him as “brilliant” following his performance in the 4-0 win over Crystal Palace recently.

Tottenham should sanction Gil loan

In our view, we can’t understand why Tottenham are reluctant to loan Gil to Sevilla.

For a start, the Spanish side are correct if what Vamos Mi Sevilla are claiming is true – Gil’s value, and the volume of interest in him, will increase if he does well on loan.

Furthermore, Tottenham have just signed Arnaut Danjuma on loan, providing more competition for the Spaniard in what was already a crowded field.

It would be cruel of Tottenham to deny Gil the chance to play regularly, so hopefully, the north Londoners change their alleged stance.
