In Tottenham transfer news, lightning could very possibly strike twice for them after Liverpool pipped them 12 months ago.

Last January, Spurs looked set to sign a certain Luis Diaz.

However, Liverpool hijacked the move [Football London], to the devastation of Tottenham.

Fast forward a year and, well, a similar thing could happen again.

That’s because Tottenham are now linked to Nicolo Zaniolo who, according to Rudy Galetti, has agreed personal terms with the Lilywhites.

That would indicate that things are quite advanced but, just like Liverpool did a year ago, the transfer could be hijacked.

According to CMW in Italy, as covered by HITC Sport, Paris Saint-Germain are now entering the race to sign the Roma attacker.

And obviously the Ligue 1 champions have the clout and the resources to easily prise Zaniolo away from Antonio Conte’s side.

It’s still in Tottenham’s hands.

As mentioned, things have to be relatively advanced between them and the 24-year-old.

And their failure to sign the now-Liverpool winger last January should be a reminder that no matter how advanced something is, things can change.

Question is, have the North Londoners learned their lesson from the Luis Diaz saga?

Time will tell.
