Antonio Conte has opened the door to a return to Italy, after Tottenham Hotspur lost 1-0 to AC Milan in the 1st leg of the Champions League Round of 16.
Throughout his time at Spurs, the ‘intense’ Italian has been linked with a return to Serie A, as he has never truly committed to signing a new contract with the Premier League club, as once pointed out by Ben Foster in blunter terms.
As things continue to turn sour between Antonio Conte and Tottenham as they only seem to be regressing, he has admitted that he would be interested in returning to Italy, after his side lost to AC Milan on Tuesday.

It seems as if several of the club’s fanbase would also be happy to see the £290,000-a-week man leave, as the fit between the club and manager has never fully felt right, with Jamie O’Hara fully backing an exit.

Now, Antonio Conte has opened the door to working in Italy once again, after Tottenham got beaten by AC Milan, as quoted by Football.London, saying, “I don’t want to talk about the future but as a former Italian national manager people know how much Italy means to me. It’s in my heart. I will never exclude the possible idea that I will be back here one day.”
Conte and Spurs need to part ways in the summer
What the 53-year-old said after the game should not be deemed as controversial, as most managers would love to return to their countries and work in familiar settings.
However, it would be good news for both Antonio Conte and Tottenham, if the former does return to Italy upon reflecting on his statement after his side lost to AC Milan.
Spurs are in need of a project manager, which Conte simply is not, as Carragher recently said, and he needs to work his magic at a club that allows him to triumph in the now.
