Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed a fruitful and entertaining debut campaign under Ange Postecoglou.
For several years, fans have been used to the club not really moving forward and then having to watch drab football.
But Ange Postecoglou certainly turned that around at Tottenham, with his all-action and fearless style of play getting fans off their seats.
Yes, the Spurs fans would have been frustrated and annoyed that they missed out on Champions League football during the recently concluded season.
But there was still progression and they will be playing Europa League football next term, with the London club kicking off their 2024/25 campaign by playing newly-promoted Leicester City.
No Upcoming Fixtures
If they are to cope with European football, on top of pushing as far as they can in the Premier League, then they need to add to their squad in the summer transfer market.
That’s why there are suggestions that Spurs are keen on highly-rated Bologna centre-back, Riccardo Calafiori.
Don Hutchison watches a lot of Italian football and he has waxed lyrical about the player by claiming that he is ‘the new Maldini’, as he told ESPN.
That is some statement from the former Premier League midfielder as he was questioned by Ale Moreno for his quite incredible comments and high praise of the sought-after target.
Tottenham’s transfer interest in Riccardo Calafiori
“Oh my God, the prince,” said Hutchison. “The new Maldini.”
Moreno added: “When Calafiori was running, he said ‘he is just a beautiful runner’. Who says that? I don’t doubt that he is a really good player. But I can’t, for the life of me, evaluate a player by saying ‘look at the way he runs’.”
Hutchison then responded: “Look at him. He looks like Maldini. Look at his hair. His face. Look at his running gate. You must look at someone’s running gate and go ‘yeah, he reminds me of a certain individual’.”

Juventus also want Riccardo Calafiori
The issue facing Spurs is that Juventus are also keen on Calafiori, as revealed by HITC.
The Serie A giants are looking to make serious moves this summer after past off-field troubles, including signing Aston Villa midfielder, Douglas Luiz.

If Postecoglou can get hold of a player like Calafiori, then he would be an incredible purchase and add serious depth in quality at the back for the club.
That would be Calafiori, added with the speed machine Micky van de Ven, the no-nonsense Cristian Romero and the current Euro 2024 star, Radu Dragusin.
