Tottenham Hotspur fans are going to really find out what Radu Dragusin is all about at Euro 2024.
The 22-year-old secured a transfer to Ange Postecoglou’s side in January, but only played 429 minutes.
With the no-nonsense Cristian Romero and ‘Player of the Season’ Micky van de Ven the two main guys for Tottenham at the heart of the defence, it meant that Radu Dragusin was only limited to four starts in the Premier League.
So, the Tottenham fans are trying to know more about him as a player and character. They got a huge chunk of that as Romania secured an impressive 3-0 win over Ukraine at Euro 2024 on Monday.
Dragusin started the game and put in a very impressive performance, including making driving runs into the opposition’s half and doing stuff the Spurs fans wouldn’t have seen.
His popularity has only grown after that game and it has probably excited his club fans more because they probably can’t wait to see more of him next season.
But what also impressed James McFadden is what the Tottenham man was doing in his warm-up before his nation’s Euro 2024 opener.
The former Scotland international highlighted how Dragusin was ‘involved in crossing and finishing’ and how he ‘epitomises this Romanian side’, as he told Match of the Day on BBC One.
There was a bit of Romero about the Tottenham new boy and it proves what he is probably going to deliver next season under Postecoglou.
Radu Dragusin helps Romania beat Ukraine
“I watched him in the warm-up as well,” said McFadden. “He was involved in the finishing. Crossing and finishing.
“So, he wants to step into the game there (driving run v Ukraine). He does really well and gets his side a foul. He probably epitomises this Romanian side. Their enthusiasm and energy for the game.”

Radu Dragusin under Ange Postecoglou
Eric Dier was the man who left the building and the reason was that he didn’t have the skill set to play Postecoglou’s wild system.
You need that aggression, speed, ability to defend open space and drive forward with the ball.

Van de Ven and Romero have that in abundance, as Dragusin is showing that he has many of those skills in his locker.
Now it’s about being able to unleash it on the Premier League stage because he is going to play a very important role for his team.
