Tottenham Hotspur may have been boosted in their hopes of signing Roma playmaker Nicolo Zaniolo as the Italian club prepare to ‘sacrifice’ him.
Tottenham’s interest in Zaniolo has been going on for a while now, but has ramped up again under Antonio Conte.
Calciomercato claim that Conte is a huge fan of Zaniolo and wants to take him to Tottenham.
Tuttomercatoweb report that Zaniolo may sign a new contract with Roma ahead of the summer transfer window.
However, that new contract may only be a way to preserve Zaniolo’s value and ultimately sell him on in a matter of months.
Roma are considering sacrificing Zaniolo at the end of the season to raise funds and boost Jose Mourinho’s squad.
Mourinho is a factor we just can’t ignore here, as he has been for going on 20 years.

Zaniolo’s relationship with Mourinho has been a little mixed. The pair were seen arguing at Roma’s training ground in November, with Zaniolo allegedly unhappy with his role.
Mourinho then recommended that Zaniolo leaves Italy because referees aren’t protecting him enough after two major knee injuries.
Zaniolo has bagged three goals and three assists under Mourinho, enjoying a decent season – but that may just lead to a transfer.
If Zaniolo is available, expect Tottenham to be right in there with a move.
