Jose Mourinho has now indicated that Roma playmaker Nicolo Zaniolo should leave Serie A amid interest from Antonio Conte and Tottenham Hotspur.
Roma lost 1-0 to Bologna on Wednesday night and Mourinho has responded in typically dramatic fashion.
Mourinho told Corriere dello Sport that he thinks Zaniolo should start to think about playing outside of Serie A.
Mourinho feels that opposing players are so hard on him that Zaniolo ‘has to suffer’ on the pitch and should leave Italy.
It’s not often you see a manager telling one of his players to leave, but that’s Mourinho – always saying something that other managers wouldn’t.
Tottenham interest in Zaniolo amid Mourinho row
Another thing to note is that the Italian press claimed in November that Zaniolo had been seen arguing with Mourinho during Roma training.
If Mourinho really does think Zaniolo should leave, then Tottenham may gladly take him.

Calciomercato claim that Antonio Conte has liked Zaniolo for a long time and would like him at Tottenham.
Mourinho would hate losing a player to Tottenham less than a year after they sacked him, but few could blame Zaniolo if he wanted to go.
After bouncing back from two major knee injuries, Zaniolo is trying to find his best form.
Zaniolo may simply have a better chance of doing that under Conte at Tottenham than under Mourinho at Roma as things stand.
