Tottenham Hotspur failed to win against Liverpool in the Premier League at the weekend.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele has admitted on the club’s official website that he does not know why the team struggle against big clubs away from home.
Dembele made the admission following Tottenham’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League at the weekend.
Shearer reminds Mauricio Pochettino of mind-boggling Tottenham decision
The North London club’s record against the big teams away from White Hart Lane this season is far from impressive.
Spurs drew with Arsenal and Manchester City and lost to Manchester United and Chelsea. During the 2015-16 campaign, Mauricio Pochettino’s side won only one – against City at the Etihad Stadium in February.
David Gold’s response when asked about Andy Carroll update
It is clear that Tottenham have a problem facing the big teams on their grounds, but what exactly is the issue? Midfielder Dembele simply does not know.

“If you see the stats, maybe we don’t do well in big games away from home and I don’t know why,” Dembele told Tottenham’s official website. “We have the quality to beat any team.”

Tottenham’s chances of winning the Premier League title this season are slim, as London rivals Chelsea are looking unstoppable at the moment. Spurs, though, are one of the favourites to claim a Champions League place.
Pochettino’s side will return to action on Thursday evening when they take on KAA Gent away from home in the first leg of the Europa League round of 32 tie.
