Tottenham Hotspur have allowed one Brazilian right back to leave the club but are being linked with another in Monaco’s Vanderson.

Ange Postecoglou has been given a couple of major additions at Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Archie Gray arrived from Leeds United before Tottenham snapped up Dominic Solanke in a big move from Bournemouth.

Spurs need to wheel and deal a little though and we have already seen Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg sign for Marseille this summer.

Emerson Royal has now joined AC Milan, finally completing a rather protracted move to Italy.

The Brazilian spent most of last season serving as backup behind Pedro Porro and will now chase first-team action at the San Siro.

Tottenham linked with Vanderson

Spurs could use new signing Gray at right back if needed but Postecoglou may now chase another right back signing.

The latest name linked is that of Monaco star Vanderson.

Brazilian reporter Bruno Andrade claims that Tottenham have started conversations to sign Vanderson.

A deal of around €40million (£34.5million) would be needed, which is much higher than the amount Spurs have brought in for Emerson.

It’s difficult to imagine Tottenham splashing that kind of cash on another right back with Porro clearly first choice.

Vanderson has been on the Tottenham radar for a while though having first targeted a move to sign him from Gremio in 2021.

Spurs were linked with Vanderson again in 2022 and the rumours have returned this summer.

The 23-year-old has bagged six goals and nine assists in 84 appearances for Monaco and still has four years left on his contract.

Tottenham right back options

Porro will start the season as Tottenham’s first choice right back having impressed under Postecoglou last season.

Gray could be competition but there is also a chance for Djed Spence to make an impression.

Spence has been given a chance this summer and Football London claim that Postecoglou does want him to stay put and compete for a place in the Tottenham side.

Spence spent last season on loan at Leeds United and Genoa but is now back in contention in North London.

HITC understands that Tottenham have thought assessed a number of right back options this summer in preparation for Emerson moving on.

Fiorentina’s Joshua Kayode, Manchester City’s Issa Kabore and Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters are all on the radar just in case Tottenham don’t decide to move forward with Spence as Porro’s competition.
