Ange Postecoglou deserves praise for the work he has done at Tottenham Hotspur in his first 12 months at the club.
Losing Harry Kane, yet improving on the previous campaign, playing a better style of football and returning to Europe is a huge plus.
Now Tottenham will turn their attention to the summer transfer window and helping out their manager because their squad needs a boost.
You wonder if the powers that be at Spurs would have had their eyes on the Championship play-off final on Sunday at Wembley.
Southampton beat Leeds United 1-0 and they made an instant return to the Premier League.
On one hand, this is good news for a team like Spurs because it increases their chances of signing Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United.
The Yorkshire outfit will spend another season in England’s second tier and Spurs have expressed interest in their star player, as sources told HITC in April.
But their quest to sign another star – Kyle Walker-Peters – could now prove to be difficult given that Southampton are now back in the big time.
Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer interest in Kyle Walker-Peters
Sources have told HITC football that Spurs have expressed interest in bringing back the ‘brilliant’ fullback, but they aren’t willing to pay the £30 million buy-back clause in his deal.
That was when the South Coast club were still a Championship team. This probably now strengthens their position and he is one of their best players.

Walker-Peters had the task of dealing with Summerville on the day – and like he did twice during the regular season – he locked down the winger and didn’t let him move.
The fact that Summerville was subbed off just after 70 minutes, tells you everything you need to know about his performance and how Walker-Peters dealt with him.

Kyle Walker-Peters at Tottenham
The versatile fullback came through at Spurs and was highly rated amongst those at Hotspur Way.
But they decided to move him on and he proceeded to do very well upon his move to St Mary’s, including earning two England caps.

You can understand why there is interest from Spurs because Postecoglou needs cover at fullback and Walker-Peters can play on either side.
Some would even probably argue that he has always been a better player than Emerson Royal – sources have suggested that there is interest in Saudi Arabia for the player.
