- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
HITC understands that Tottenham Hotspur want to bring Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters back to the club this summer.
Tottenham have missed out on the top four with the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City ending their Champions League hopes.
Ange Postecoglou will now head into his third transfer window as Spurs boss and has already warned that changes are coming.
Spurs want to bolster their full-back options are focusing on someone who can give them similar attributes to the likes of Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie – something they don’t think they have now.
Emerson Royal has already been told that the club won’t stand in his way this summer and a player they want is Walker-Peters.
The Brazilian attracted interest from Al-Nassr in January and Spurs are ready to let him leave as the summer transfer window looms.

Tottenham buy-back clause on Kyle Walker-Peters
Walker-Peters hails from Edmonton, just north of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The full back came up in the Tottenham ranks and made 24 first-team appearances before moving to Southampton in 2020.
The 27-year-old now has one year left on his deal at Southampton but would like the chance to move on this summer.
Spurs are ready to make a move at the end of the season and it is understood that Tottenham have a buy-back clause worth around £30million.
That is more than double the £12million Tottenham brought in for Walker-Peters four years ago.
Yet with one year left on his Southampton deal, Tottenham would be looking to pay much less than that figure – closer to £20m.
How has Walker-Peters fared at Southampton?
Walker-Peters stayed with Southampton last summer despite their relegation from the Premier League.
The two-cap England international has helped the Saints secure a play-off spot and they face a semi-final second-leg clash with West Bromwich Albion.
Walker-Peters has hit three goals and three assists this season whilst mostly playing as a right back under Russell Martin.
Walker-Peters does also possess the versatility to play at left back though and has started seven games in that role this season.
Martin has hailed Walker-Peters as a ‘brilliant’ player but accepts that he may be moving on this summer.
Tottenham are now looking into a move, potentially boosting their homegrown numbers after selling Harry Kane and Harry Winks last summer.
