Manchester United and Leeds United donned the Wembley turf 24 hours after one another, but with different results.
Erik ten Hag and his players had to deal with the might of Manchester City in the FA Cup final, whilst it was Leeds United trying to make an instant return to the Premier League in the Championship play-off final against Southampton.
Not many will argue that Manchester United were underdogs for their clash against their rivals, whereas Leeds were possibly favourites against the Saints.
In the end, two teenagers, Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho, inspired Manchester United to FA Cup final glory.
But it was a bitter and heartbreaking 1-0 defeat for Leeds against Southampton. It confirms their stay in the Championship for another season.
As you can imagine, the Whites, over the course of their history, have made many, many rivals and it’s something that will never stop.
It’s fair to say many teams and rivals revel in their disappointment and Harry Maguire was making sure to do just that on Sunday.
Moments after Southampton’s promotion was confirmed, he was straight on his Instagram story to rub salt into their wounds.
The Manchester United defender, who also came through at Sheffield United, was sure to celebrate the Saints’ win against Leeds with a message that was clearly aimed at the Whites and their current suffering.
Leeds United lose play-off final
‘Hope everyone is having a fantastic Sunday,’ wrote Maguire. Added with a heart emoji and a picture of Southampton celebrating their play-off final win.

Therefore, those fans from Old Trafford are probably celebrating a little bit more now that their old rivals won’t be returning to the promised land anytime soon.
On one hand, it makes the headlines and rival fans will mock Leeds for it.
But given the size of the club and the fanbase, you just know that the Premier League is a far better place with Leeds in it.
