Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte really rates central defender Davinson Sanchez highly, according to Football.London journalist Alasdair Gold on his YouTube channel.

The Tottenham correspondent for Football.London has claimed that Conte really likes Sanchez and is not planning to sell the 25-year-old Colombia international central defender anytime soon.

Sanchez was linked with a move away from Tottenham in the January transfer window.

According to Corriere dello Sport in January, Napoli wanted to sign the defender last month.

Gold said about Conte and Sanchez on his YouTube channel: “He really likes Sanchez. If you’re not aware of this, Conte really likes him,

“He keeps talking about how much he’s improved since he’s been there. So anyone that’s hoping for a Davinson Sanchez exit very soon, it’s probably not going to happen right now.”

Antonio Conte could make Davinson Sanchez better

In our view, Sanchez could become a better and more developed player under Tottenham head coach Conte.

The Colombian is 25 now, and, in our view, this is when he steps up and takes his game to another level.

Sanchez has been on the books of Tottenham since 2017 when he joined from Ajax for £42 million (The Guardian).

The defender has scored three goals and created one big chance in 116 Premier League appearances so far in his career.

Sanchez has kept 34 clean sheets in those league games.

The 25-year-old has made 503 clearances and has won 57% of his tackles.

Now, of course, there is competition for a place in the Tottenham back-three under Conte, but Sanchez has to rise to the occasion.
