The excitement levels amongst Arsenal fans must be building up because they are looking pretty good ahead of the new Premier League season.

Yes, you are always told never to look too much into pre-season, but Mikel Arteta’s side are the ones expected to dethrone the Champions of England.

Arsenal narrowly missed out on the Premier League title to Manchester City last season and they are showing signs this summer that they are ready to go again.

The London club are out in the United States for their season preparations and they have kicked things off with a bang.

Arsenal beat Manchester United on Sunday, with many positives to take from the game, for the manager and the supporters.

From Arteta thinking that Gabriel Jesus has transformed after he opened the scoring, or Kai Havertz playing in midfield.

One of the best things to witness was Jurrien Timber kicking a ball again for Arsenal and looking more than ready after a troubling 10 or so months.

William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães are just returning from their summer breaks after national duty, so it means Arteta has to play a weakened side.

As a result, Timber played at centre-back against Manchester United and it seems Aaron Ramsdale was watching on from afar.

The England goalkeeper reacted in the comments section of Timber’s Instagram post by writing ’too calm’.

Riccardo Calafiori to sign for Arsenal

Even though the title-chasers had the best defence in the Premier League last term, they are still elevating their quality.

Sources have told HITC that Arsenal are about to sign Riccardo Calafiori from the Italian side, Bologna – they secured Champions League football last term.

The 22-year-old can play as a centre-back and as a left-back, so he will provide competition for Timber

But, from Arteta’s perspective, the above two players, when the new season starts, are going to feel like new signings.
