Wolves journalist Tim Spiers has commented on speculation surrounding Adama Traore’s future at Wolves and reported interest from Leeds United.
Spiers is probably the most well-connected Wolves journalist in the country, so he will be clued up on any murmurs about transfers involving Wolves players.
One rumour that seemingly just won’t go away is Adama Traore’s links to Leeds United, and while numerous outlets have reported that the Whites want the Spain international, Spiers has seemingly heard nothing to that effect.
Understandably, a fan asked Spiers about Traore to Leeds in his Q&A session on Saturday, to which he replied:
‘Had no substance at all to back that one up pal, really can’t see it.’
It seems as though we can write off this rumour for the time being.
To be fair, it always seemed unlikely that Leeds were going to sign Traore this month, Wolves have no reason to sell one of their prized assets, and the Whites have been tipped to have a quiet window.
It seems as though the Spaniard will not be joining Leeds this month, which must come as a massive relief to Wolves fans.
Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean the Spaniard’s long term future at Molineux is secured, after all, he’s still not put pen to paper on a new contract, and there is plenty of interest from top clubs.
Traore’s situation is one to keep an eye on, but it seems as though there’s very little chance of him moving to Elland Road this month.
