According to Eurosport, Leeds United are interested in signing Adama Traore from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the January transfer window.
It has been reported that Leeds director of football Victor Orta is driving the interest.
Orta knows the Spanish winger from their time together at Middlesbrough, according to the report.
It has been claimed that the former Barcelona and Aston Villa winger wants to leave the Wanderers this month, and that he will be available for less than £50 million.
“It is thought a deal might become possible if Wolves are willing to consider staggered payments for the player,” adds the report in Eurosport.
“Traore is looking to impress with an eye on becoming a surprise inclusion for the Spain squad at the European Championship.”
90min also reported of interest from Leeds in Traore in December 2020.
Good signing for Leeds United?
True, there are doubts whether the 24-year-old can play consistently well over the course of a season, but he can certainly make an impact as a substitute, and given his age, there is potential that he would get better.
According to WhoScored, the winger has made 10 starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League for Wolves so far this season, while in 2019-20, he scored four goals and provided nine assists in 27 league starts for the Wanderers.
