Thierry Henry has claimed that Mo Salah is now ‘looking to give the ball’ and pass to his Liverpool teammates a lot more.
The 2021/22 Premier League season may have ended with Liverpool finishing second, but Salah didn’t just scoop up the Golden Boot award, he also walked away with the most assists.
The 29-year-old scored 23 league goals for the Reds and supplied 14 assists, beating his Liverpool teammates, Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold to that individual prize.
For a number of seasons, Salah has had this label thrown at him that he is ‘selfish’, including from the Premier League’s top goalscorer, Alan Shearer.
But another iconic figure in the English game, in Henry, told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (28/05/22 at 7:30 pm) that’s the part of Salah’s game that is now changing.
“Also assists, he has been doing that recently a lot, especially to Mane,” said Henry. “He’s looking to give the ball, more often than not.
“Before, he used to try and to bulldoze his way in all the time. But now he is looking to have those little assists.”

SALAH’S PREMIER LEAGUE ASSISTS THIS SEASON WILL SHUT CRITICS UP
All strikers or goalscorers are selfish, that’s why they score the volume of goals they do and Salah is no different.
But certain critics, such as Graeme Souness, still can’t stop calling Salah ‘greedy’ even though he has topped the assists charts for most parts of the recently-concluded campaign.
In truth, those people may never change their minds, but come next season, Salah will still showcase that creative side to his game and continue to add to his Premier League assists for Liverpool.
