Harry Redknapp says Martin Odegaard is ‘so special’ as he thinks Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal go into the north London derby on Sunday against Tottenham Hotspur as the ‘favourites’, as he told talkSPORT on Tuesday morning (10/01/23).

Arsenal won the reverse fixture at the Emirates Stadium, whilst Antonio Conte’s men got the better of the two when they met at Spurs last season.

On home soil, the two continue to dominate and win their respective games, but could the tide now change with Arsenal now sitting at the top of the Premier League table?

Well, this is certainly Arsenal’s best chance in a very long while to leave Hotspur Way with all three points because of their form and what they have been producing this season in comparison to their bitter rivals.

One man that loves NLDs is a certain Harry Kane and he will be looking to continue his very strong goalscoring start to the season – he has 15 Premier League goals from 18 games this term.

Whilst Harry Redknapp gave a mention to the England captain ahead of the weekend game, he also mentioned the £30 million man (Sky Sports) with the armband for Arsenal.

“I must admit, this is a fantastic Arsenal team,” said Redknapp. “You have to enjoy watching them play. The football is just amazing. They play with two great wingers. They have got movement up front. Odegaard, I just think is so special.

“I just love the way they play the game, at the moment. You just can’t fault Arsenal, so it’s going to be a tough game. This time they are favourites.

“But Tottenham at home, they will be dogged. They will be difficult to break down and they have Harry Kane. When you have got Harry Kane, then you have a chance in any game, so it has the makings of a fantastic match. I can’t wait for it.”

CAN SPURS SPOIL ARSENAL’S PARTY?

The gap between Arsenal and Manchester City is currently five points and it could easily be two points by the time Odegaard leads his players out at Tottenham.

Pep Guardiola has the small matter of trying to deal with their own derby game – a trip to Old Trafford – where Arsenal fans will be hoping for a favour from Manchester United.

Whatever happens during that match, this NLD are the type of games that Arsenal need to prove their worth because they are entering the crunch moments of the season pretty soon.

If they secure a win here, then it will be another big signal of intent that they can win the Premier League title.
