Speaking on his YouTube channel, Express journalist Ryan Taylor has been speaking about Djed Spence and his future.
The Middlesbrough defender is one of the most highly-coveted young players in England at the moment after a successful loan spell with Nottingham Forest.
Tottenham, Newcastle and Forest have all been linked, but according to Taylor, Forest believe that their former loanee will be headed to north London this summer.
What’s been said?
Taylor spoke about Spence’s future.
“I reported on Sunday that Tottenham will firm up their interest in Djed Spence. He’s been away on England U21 duty, and once that’s completed I do expect Spurs to firm up their interest with an offer,” Taylor said.
“There’s a feeling within the circles surrounding Spence that Forest know that his likely destination is Tottenham, They have Champions League football and they play a system that suits his style, obviously he’s more of a wing-back. Spurs have a lot of confidence in him and Fabio Paratici has watched him in the FA Cup against Leicester and he was really impressive that day.”

Smart addition
Tottenham haven’t made the most of the Championship market in recent years, but Spence would be a fantastic addition from the second-tier.
The 21-year-old is coming off of the best season of his career, and under the tutelage of Antonio Conte, he could quickly transform into a Premier League player.
An energetic, speedy wing-back with an incredible work-rate, Spence is exactly the type of player that Conte has been known to mould into a superstar.
Forest believe that the defender is headed to Spurs, and it looks like Tottenham have gotten themselves a real gem here.
