Tottenham are closing in on Djed Spence after Antonio Conte urged the club to do everything to sign the Middlesbrough right back.
Tottenham have already secured one signing by bringing in Ivan Perisic on a free transfer.
Fraser Forster looks set to follow Perisic too, with Tottenham swooping for a couple of free agents to start their summer business.
Money will be spent too and with Perisic coming in at left wing back, the attention will soon turn to a right wing back.
A number of names have been linked with that role but Middlesbrough talent Spence looks like the most likely addition there.
Tottenham are closing in on Djed Spence
The Northern Echo now report that Tottenham are set to sign Spence in a deal worth in the region of £15million.
It’s stated that Tottenham boss Conte has specifically asked for Spurs to do everything they possibly can to sign Spence.
Conte loves his wing backs to be very attack-minded and Emerson Royal just hasn’t quite suited that role.
Spence is a much better fit with his attacking play earning rave reviews during his season on loan at Nottingham Forest.

Spence helped Forest win promotion to the Premier League and Steve Cooper’s men are understandably keen to sign him permanently.
Yet a return to London now appears to be on the cards for the wing back who was born in the capital.
Reports have suggested that Newcastle are in the race to sign Spence but Tottenham have been favourites for a while now.
The 21-year-old is an enormous talent for the future and may now be brought in to compete with Matt Doherty at Tottenham.
Conte pushing for Spence’s signature is a major seal of approval for the wing back, and his homegrown status is absolutely perfect for Tottenham.
