The transfer window has not gone to plan for West Ham with a number of targets turning down a summer move.

The Hammers have completed deals for Luis Guilherme, Max Kilman and Wes Foderingham so far this summer but they will want to bring in additional reinforcements for Julen Lopetegui.

A new right-back has been a priority but West Ham walked away from a deal for Noussair Mazraoui with the Bayern Munich star preferring a move to Manchester United.

Therefore, attention shifted to new targets and West Ham held talks for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but they are yet to agree terms for the 26-year-old.

HITC also revealed that Juventus hijacked West Ham’s move for Jean-Clair Todibo in what was another frustrating blow for the Irons.

However, Hammers fans will be pleased to hear the latest comments about midfield target Youssouf Fofana.

Youssouf Fofana transfer agreement

West Ham are long-term admirers of Fofana having targeted a deal for him last summer.

With Flynn Downes leaving for Southampton, there is a need for midfield reinforcements at the London Stadium and they have set their sights on the 25-year-old Monaco star.

According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, West Ham have offered 35million Euros (£30million) for Fofana, with AC Milan only willing to offer 17million Euros (£14million).

The report adds that Fofana would prefer a move to Milan.

Monaco director Thiago Scuro is also quoted about an agreement with Fofana that he can leave this summer.

“I don’t see any conflict. But my job is to protect the club, regardless of the consequences.” said Scuro. “There is an agreement for the transfer.”

“At the moment it is a question of negotiation: our conditions must be respected.”

West Ham’s best chances of landing Fofana is Monaco opting for their higher offer, but Fofana’s preference to move to Italy will be a worry for the Hammers.
